The Millionaires by Brad Meltzer

Genre: Mystery/Thriller

The Millionaires is a story revolving around the life of two brothers life before they came across a huge amount of money. Oliver and Charlie Caruso are brothers who work at Greene & Greene bank, an exclusive bank that specializes in keeping their client’s money safe and secret, no matter how large the amount in the account. But when Oliver and Charlie come across an account belonging to the late Martin Duckworth they are tempted to take the $3 million in the account as it is an abandoned account that can’t be traced. Come to think of it, it is the perfect victimless crime. No one would realize that the money was missing, as it belonged to a dead man who had no family at all.

But Oliver and Charlie learn the hard way that nothing comes for free. They get a lot more than they bargained for, including being on the chase from three Secret Service agents who are willing to hunt them and hurt them until they give up the location of the money. As they are on the run, the brothers realize that there is a more sinister story behind the $3 million dollars, but will they be able to find out what it is before they are killed?

This book was honestly an amazing one! I was hooked on to it from the moment I started it. While it is predictable that all thriller books will have some sort of a plot twist at the end, they always surprise me no matter how many thriller books I’ve read by now because that twist would be totally unexpected! With great characters and fabulous dialogues, I’m so glad that my former middle-school librarian suggested this book! It was a joy to read this book and I’m delighted to find another outstanding thriller author! Apologies in advance for all the Brad Meltzer book reviews that’ll be coming your way soon. 🤗
